New York Team Brings the World Croissant Record Home to America

A croissant created by Rockland Bakery's Sean McConnell for The Mannii Show in collaboration with Serendipity3 measured 41.75 inches (approximately 106.05 cm) on August 24, 2026, surpassing the 85-centimeter (approximately 33.46-inch) German benchmark announced in February. Rockland County Department of Weights & Measures officials verified its length at Rockland Bakery in Nanuet, New York.

Mannii conceived and organized the world record attempt as a birthday present for America's 250th. Joe Calderone and Serendipity3 served as project partner and Mannii's adult supervision. McConnell led the three-day bake as head baker.

“America turns 250 once, and you can't show up empty-handed,” said Mannii. “Americans love winning and oversized food portions, so when I saw the Germans held the record for the biggest croissant, I immediately knew it was my job to bring that home to America, where a croissant record belongs.”

Australia set the published benchmark at 61 cm on January 28, 2025. Germany raised it to 85 cm in February 2026. America answered at 106.05 cm, clearing the German record by 21.05 cm, or 8.29 inches. That is a 24.8 percent increase and the first time the record crossed one meter.

The croissant was made with traditional ingredients, recipe and baking methods, and followed the protocols set by the Rekord-Institut für Deutschland, which certified the German record.

“Sean cooked up nearly 42 inches of laminated greatness. Joe and Serendipity3 kept the mission on course from idea to world record,” Mannii continued. “I'm proud of this team, proud of this country, and proud to use imperial measurements.”
